Doug Stone headed up to Iowa to take on the challenging course. Doug had two great days on the bike up in Iowa, taking 6th place both days. It was a great result against a very tough field at one of the nation’s premier cross events. If you haven’t made it up to race or spectate, we suggest you put it on your calendar for next year.
The local cross scene in KC is very healthy with races almost every weekend during the season. The team over at LocalCycling.com put on another great event with Castle Cross, in the historic 18th and Vine Jazz District. We had several riders on course during the event racing for the team. Doug had another great showing with another podium spot, taking third in the 1/2 field. Matt Maher jumped into the first race of the season for him, taking 12th.
Mark DeBoer has been targeting some MTB racing as well as the single speed categories at the local cross events. Mark finished 1st at OMBA Caramba!, 2nd and 3rd respectively at both days of the Colavita cup in KC.
Going into this weekend’s Joules Cross event, Mark was in the lead in the Kansas State Cross Series in the single speed category.
